<p>파일 시스템 NTFS는 운영 체제 Windows NT 이상에서 사용할 수 있습니다. 트리사이즈에도 효과가 있는 몇 가지 특수 기능을 제공합니다.</p>
<p>다음 단락에서는 이러한 기능 중 일부와 이러한 기능이 이 소프트웨어에 미치는 영향에 대해 설명합니다.</p>
<section id="access-control-lists">
<h2>액세스 제어 목록<a class="headerlink" href="#access-control-lists" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>사용자가 파일과 폴더에 액세스할 수 있는 방법을 제한할 수 있습니다. 다른 사용자나 그룹에게 읽기, 쓰기, 실행, 삭제와 같은 특정 권한을 부여하거나 거부할 수 있습니다. 이렇게 하면 관리자가 파일과 폴더에 액세스하는 것을 거부할 수도 있습니다.</p>
<p>소유자가 다른 사용자의 읽기 액세스를 거부한 Windows 탐색기의 폴더에 관리자가 액세스하려고 하면 ‘액세스 거부됨’ 오류 메시지가 표시됩니다.</p>
<p>그러나 관리자 또는 백업 수행 권한이 있는 사용자로 로그인한 경우 TreeSize는 이러한 폴더를 검사할 수 있습니다(이 옵션은 “제어판 > 관리 도구 > 로컬 보안 정책” 및 Windows의 사용자 편집기에서 변경할 수 있습니다).</p>

<section id="file-based-compression">
<h2>File 기반 압축<a class="headerlink" href="#file-based-compression" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>NTFS는 개별 파일 단위로 압축을 지원합니다. NTFS 볼륨에서 압축된 파일은 다른 프로그램에서 먼저 압축을 풀지 않고도 읽고 쓸 수 있습니다. 압축 해제는 파일을 읽는 동안 자동으로 투명하게 이루어집니다. File은 저장할 때 다시 압축됩니다.</p>
<p>압축된 파일이 차지하는 공간은 일반적으로 정상 크기보다 훨씬 작습니다. 따라서 부분적으로 또는 완전히 압축된 폴더의 경우 TreeSize에서 보고된 할당 공간이 이 폴더에 대해 보고된 크기보다 작을 수 있습니다.</p>
<p>TreeSize는 ‘세부정보’ 탭의 추가 열에 압축률을 표시할 수 있습니다. 또한 압축된 파일과 폴더를 다른 색상으로 표시할 수도 있습니다. 이러한 기능은 옵션(&O) 대화 상자에서 켜거나 끌 수 있습니다.</p>
<p>TreeSize는 우 클릭 메뉴를 사용하여 전체 File 시스템 브랜치를 압축 및 압축 해제할 수 있습니다.</p>
<p>Windows 10에서 Microsoft는 운영 체제의 파일(주로 DLL 및 EXE 파일)을 압축하도록 설계된 새로운 투명 압축 기능을 NTFS에 도입했습니다. 기존 파일 기반 압축과 달리 이러한 파일은 파일 속성에서 압축된 것으로 표시되지 않습니다.</p>

<section id="sparse-files">
<h2>Sparse Files<a class="headerlink" href="#sparse-files" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>용량은 크지만 일부만 사용되는 파일을 <a class="reference external" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sparse_file">스파스 파일</a> 이라고 합니다.</p>
<p>운영 체제는 스파스 파일에서 사용하지 않는 부분에 디스크 공간을 할당하지 않기 때문에 실제 크기보다 적은 디스크 공간을 차지합니다.</p>
<p>TreeSize는 스파스 파일을 압축 파일처럼 취급하고 압축률도 계산합니다.</p>

<section id="reparse-points-volume-mount-points-and-symbolic-links">
<h2>리파스 포인트: 볼륨 마운트 포인트 및 심볼릭 링크<a class="headerlink" href="#reparse-points-volume-mount-points-and-symbolic-links" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>볼륨 마운트 지점은 다른 볼륨을 ‘마운트’하는 기존 경로입니다.</p>
<p>이렇게 하면 사용자와 애플리케이션이 해당 경로로 마운트된 볼륨을 참조할 수 있습니다. 이 볼륨에 드라이브 문자를 할당할 필요가 없습니다. 이를 통해 여러 파일 시스템을 하나의 논리 파일 시스템으로 통합할 수 있습니다.</p>
<p>심볼릭 링크(정션 포인트라고도 함)도 비슷한 방식으로 작동합니다. 예를 들어 “C:\Documents\Images” 폴더가 비어 있는 경우, “E:Pics”에 대한 심볼릭 링크를 만들 수 있습니다. 그러면 애플리케이션은 “C:\Documents\Images”에서 “E:\Pics”의 내용을 볼 수 있습니다.</p>
<p>NTFS 정션 포인트와 달리 심볼릭 링크는 파일 또는 원격 SMB 네트워크 경로를 가리킬 수도 있습니다.</p>
<p>“마운트 지점 및 심볼릭 링크 따라가기” 옵션이 켜져 있으면 스캔할 때 TreeSize가 이러한 폴더의 내용을 포함합니다. 이러한 폴더는 스캔하는 드라이브에 물리적으로 저장되지 않으므로 할당된 공간이 드라이브의 전체 크기보다 큰 결과가 나올 수 있습니다.</p>

<section id="alternate-data-streams-ads">
<h2>대체 데이터 스트림(ADS)<a class="headerlink" href="#alternate-data-streams-ads" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>NTFS에서 파일은 서로 다른 데이터 스트림으로 구성됩니다. 한 스트림에는 보안 정보(액세스 권한 등)가 들어 있고, 다른 스트림에는 파일에 있을 것으로 예상되는 ‘실제 데이터’가 들어 있습니다.</p>
<p>표준 데이터 스트림과 동일한 방식으로 데이터를 보관하는 대체 데이터 스트림이 있을 수 있습니다. 이러한 대체 데이터 스트림은 숨겨져 있습니다. 즉, 공식 기본 데이터 스트림에는 1바이트의 파일이 있고 하나 이상의 대체 데이터 스트림에는 약 100MB의 파일이 있을 수 있습니다.</p>
<p>dir 명령, 파일 관리자 또는 Windows &Explorer에서는 이 파일의 크기가 1바이트로 표시되지만 실제로는 하드 드라이브에 훨씬 더 많은 공간을 할당합니다.</p>

<p>ADS는 주 데이터 스트림과 동일한 클러스터에 정보를 저장할 수 있으므로 파일에 하나 이상의 ADS가 있는 경우 이 파일이 반드시 더 많은 디스크 공간을 할당하는 것은 아닙니다.</p>

<h2>하드링크<a class="headerlink" href="#hardlinks" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>Windows 환경에서 하드링크는 NTFS 스토리지 볼륨의 실제 데이터에 대한 참조 또는 포인터입니다. 이름이 지정된 모든 파일은 하드링크입니다. 파일과 연결된 이름은 운영 체제에서 실제 데이터를 참조하는 레이블일 뿐입니다.</p>
<p>NTFS 볼륨에서는 동일한 데이터에 둘 이상의 이름을 연결할 수 있습니다. 다른 이름으로 호출되더라도 나중에 파일이 어떻게 호출되는지에 관계없이 모든 변경 사항은 실제 데이터에 영향을 미칩니다.</p>
<p>하드링크는 동일한 파일 시스템에 존재하는 데이터만 참조할 수 있습니다. 데이터를 가리키는 링크가 하나 이상 존재하는 한 데이터에 액세스할 수 있습니다. 마지막 링크가 제거되면 해당 공간은 비어 있는 것으로 간주됩니다.</p>

<p>하드 링크를 만들려면 드라이브가 로컬 드라이브가 아닌 경우 해당 폴더 브랜치 및 공유에 대한 파일 속성에 대한 쓰기 권한이 사용자에게 있어야 합니다.</p>
<p>두 개 이상의 하드링크가 파일의 데이터를 가리키는 경우, 하드링크의 수에 관계없이 해당 파일에 의해 공간이 한 번만 할당됩니다.</p>
<p>옵션 대화 상자에서 디렉터리 브랜치의 공간을 더 정확하게 할당받기 위해 트리사이즈가 하드링크를 감지하도록 지시할 수 있습니다. 하드링크를 쿼리하는 데 시간이 걸리고 스캔에 필요한 전체 시간이 늘어나므로 이 옵션은 기본적으로 비활성화되어 있습니다.</p>

<section id="automatic-data-deduplication">
<h2>자동 데이터 중복 제거<a class="headerlink" href="#automatic-data-deduplication" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>Windows Server 2012 이상에서는 데이터 중복 제거 기능을 제공합니다: 데이터 중복 제거는 내용이 거의 동일한 파일을 소위 “청크”로 세그먼트화하여 해당 NTFS 파티션에 있는 하위 폴더 “시스템 볼륨 정보\Dedup\ChunkStore\”로 이동합니다.</p>
<p>Windows에서 중복 제거가 적용되면 원본 데이터는 청크스토어 디렉터리에 있는 해당 청크에 대한 포인터로 대체됩니다. NTFS 중복 제거를 통해 중복이 제거된 두 개의 동일한 파일은 이전에 차지했던 디스크 공간의 절반만 차지합니다.</p>
<p>이제 원본 파일에는 데이터 대신 작은 포인터만 포함되므로 할당된 디스크 공간은 이전보다 훨씬 작은 값으로 Windows에 표시됩니다(동일한 두 파일의 경우 점유된 디스크 공간은 “0바이트”로 표시됨).</p>
<p>TreeSize에 원본 파일 및 폴더 크기를 표시하려면 보기 모드를 ‘할당된 공간’에서 ‘크기’로 전환하면 됩니다. TreeSize에 표시되는 ‘할당된 공간’은 해당 파일을 삭제하면 얻을 수 있는 디스크 공간입니다.</p>

<section id="offline-files">
<h2>오프라인 파일<a class="headerlink" href="#offline-files" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>Windows Server와 일부 타사 도구 및 어플라이언스에서는 ‘오프라인 파일’이라는 기능을 제공합니다: 오랫동안 사용하지 않은 파일은 자동으로 더 저렴하고 느린 스토리지로 이동되며, 작은 스텁 파일은 원래 위치에 남아 있습니다.</p>
<p>일반적으로 TreeSize는 이러한 스텁 파일의 할당된 공간을 올바르게 보고하는데, 이는 대개 하나의 파일 시스템 클러스터 크기에 불과합니다.</p>
<p>그러나 스텁 파일에 할당된 공간이 올바르게 보고되지 않을 수 있는 상황이 한 가지 있습니다. TreeSize에서 액세스 거부 오류가 발생하는 경우, 백업 소프트웨어용 Windows API 함수를 사용하여 파일 시스템의 해당 부분도 스캔하고 크기와 할당된 공간에 대한 값을 제공할 수 있습니다.</p>
<p>이 경우 전체 파일 크기를 스텁 파일에 할당된 공간으로 보고하는 일부 어플라이언스를 보았는데, 이는 대부분 백업에서 차지하는 크기일 가능성이 높습니다.</p>
<p>이를 방지하려면 스캔을 실행하는 사용자에게 스캔한 파일 시스템에 대한 전체 읽기 권한이 있는지 확인하세요.</p>
